You are invited to ‘TENTACLES TV’s Screening+Talk #2: ข้างใน / Hidden Inside’. The screening of 4 moving image works as part of the project TENTACLES TV.

The screening follows with the artists’ talk about their works and open discussions afterwards.

Hidden Inside
A ‘space’ which does not take physical dimensions, but we can perceive its existence, perhaps, through memory, experience, or thought. Something which is hidden inside; something is concealed; something is revealed, through action and reaction into the outside world. The entity, indifferent to moving image, where its mass is intangible. Even sometimes we can feel those moving images more directly than standing on our own feet in the physical world.

TENTACLES TV Project invites everyone to the spaces ‘hidden inside’ from the four moving image artists through various forms of directions from stop-motion animation, drawing, video performance to short film.

[About TENTACLES TV — Project]

TENTACLES TV is an experimental project to showcase and distribute any kind of moving-image works created by anyone who wants to show their works. The works submitted are presented on a television set, placed near the entrance of Tentacles, to welcome our visitors for 6 months. Furthermore, there will be a special screening and Q&A sessions with the creators of the works.

The aim is to explore new possibilities in distributing moving-image works, by eschewing editions and high price tags. We would like to make such works more accessible to a wider audience, thus allowing a wider support base for moving-image creators. Additionally, the proceeds from the sale will help support our future projects for experimental and emerging creative practices, as well as supporting the individual creators who are participating in the project.

 

[About Tentacles]

Tentacles is an art initiative founded in 2014. Tentacles focus on providing a platform for emerging and experimental creative practitioners by hosting regular exhibitions and residency program for artists and researchers looking to spend time in Bangkok, to focus on their practices, as well as engage with local communities. Tentacles also act as a venue for collaboration and exchange of ideas in the wider social and cultural fields, by organising events such as seminars, artist’s talks, film screening. We also collaborate with partner organisations in Thailand and overseas, to facilitate cultural exchange programmes.

‘ข้างใน’…

‘พื้นที่’ ซึ่งไม่มีอยู่จริงบนมิติทางกายภาพ ทว่า… เราต่างรับรู้ได้ถึงการมีอยู่ของสถานที่ดังกล่าว ความทรงจำ ประสบการณ์ ความรู้สึกนึกคิด — บางสิ่งบางอย่างที่ซุกซ่อนอยู่ข้างใน บ้างเก็บงำ บ้างถูกเปิดเผยออกผ่านการกระทำและปฏิกิริยาสู่โลกภายนอก จะว่าไปแล้ว, ก็อาจไม่ต่างจากโลกของ ‘ภาพเคลื่อนไหว’ (Moving-Image) ที่ไม่มีปริมาตรให้สัมผัสจับต้องได้จริง (แน่นอน, หากไม่นับปริมาตรของจอภาพ) แต่ใช่หรือไม่… ในบางครั้ง เรากลับ ‘รู้สึก’ กับ ‘ภาพที่เคลื่อนไหวอยู่’ เหล่านั้น มากกว่าความรู้สึกของเท้าของเราที่เหยียบยึดอยู่กับพื้นบนโลกแห่งความเป็นจริงเสียอีก

TENTACLES TV Project ขอเชื้อเชิญทุกท่านเข้าสู่พื้นที่ ‘ข้างใน’ ของผู้สร้างสรรค์ผลงานภาพเคลื่อนไหว 4 คน ผ่านผลงานหลากหลายประเภท ทั้งสต๊อป-โมชั่น (Stop Motion Animation) จากภาพวาด, วิดีโอบันทึกการแสดง (Video Performance), รวมถึงภาพยนตร์ขนาดสั้น (Short Film) ซึ่งประกอบด้วย :

‘TENTACLES TV’s Screening+Talk #2 : ข้างใน / Hidden Inside’ เป็นครั้งที่ 2 ของกิจกรรมพิเศษ — ฉายผลงานภาพเคลื่อนไหวและพูดคุยกับผู้สร้างสรรค์ผลงาน (Screening+Talk) ซึ่งเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของโครงการระยะยาว ‘TENTACLES TV’ โดยจะจัดขึ้นทั้งสิ้น 4 ครั้ง ต่อเนื่องในแต่ละเดือน ครั้งแรกในเดือนพฤศจิกายน, 2017 และครั้งสุดท้ายในเดือนกุมภาพันธ์, 2018 (ทั้งนี้อาจมีการเปลี่ยนแปลงกำหนดการตามความเหมาะสม) และจะสับเปลี่ยนนำผลงานภาพเคลื่อนไหว 4-5 เรื่องจาก 17 ผลงานในโครงการ ฯ มาจัดฉายไม่ซ้ำกันในแต่ละครั้งของกิจกรรม ภายใต้การจัดสรรผ่านหัวข้อหรือประเด็นด้วย ‘ชื่อโปรแกรม’ ที่จำเพาะแตกต่างกันออกไปในแต่ละครั้ง

[เกี่ยวกับโครงการ TENTACLES TV]

TENTACLES TV เป็นโครงการทดลองเผยแพร่และจำหน่ายผลงานภาพเคลื่อนไหว (Moving-Image) เพื่อสร้างพลวัตใหม่ ๆ ในพื้นที่ศิลปะร่วมสมัยและสนับสนุนผู้สร้างสรรค์ผลงานในชนิดสื่อดังกล่าว ด้วยการจัดแสดงผลงานไม่จำกัดประเภทจากใครก็ได้ที่ส่งผลงานเข้ามา (ไม่จำเป็นต้องมีชื่อเสียง) โดยพยายามหลีกเลี่ยงการคัดเลือกและตัดสิน ภายในหน้าจอโทรทัศน์ซึ่งตั้งอยู่บริเวณส่วนหน้าของ Tentacles เป็นระยะเวลา 6 เดือน นอกจากนี้ยังมีกิจกรรมพิเศษ — ฉายผลงาน และ ถาม-ตอบกับผู้สร้างสรรค์ (Screening + Q&A) ควบคู่กันไปด้วย

ในส่วนของการจำหน่ายจะเป็นไปภายใต้นโยบาย ‘ขายโดยพื้นที่ศิลปะ (Art Gallery) อย่างไม่เป็นผลงานศิลปะ (High Art)’ กล่าวขยายความคือ แทนที่จะขายในราคาสูงให้กับนักสะสมหรือพิพิธภัณฑ์ศิลปะอย่างเป็นอิดิชั่น (Edition) เราจะขายผลงานภาพเคลื่อนไหวของผู้เข้าร่วมโครงการ ฯ ในราคาที่ผู้บริโภคทั่วไปสามารถจับต้องได้ ด้วยรูปแบบที่ค่อนข้าง ‘ตลาด’ คือเป็นแผ่นหนังดีวีดี (DVD-Video) พร้อมแพคเกจ โดย Tentacles เป็นผู้ผลิตและรับผิดชอบค่าใช้จ่ายในการผลิตทั้งหมด และแบ่งปันผลกำไรให้กับผู้สร้างสรรค์ผลงาน

[เกี่ยวกับ Tentacles]

Tentacles ก่อตั้งเมื่อ ปี พ.ศ. 2557 เป็นองค์กรศิลปะที่เปิดพื้นที่ให้กับบุคคลากรด้านศิลปะวัฒนธรรม การออกแบบและบุคคลทั่วไป เป็นที่นำเสนอผลงาน แลกเปลี่ยนมุมมองความคิดและขับเคลื่อนองค์ความรู้ในประเด็นทางสังคมและวัฒนธรรม รวมถึงการทดลองสร้างสรรค์ต่างๆ ผ่านการจัดกิจกรรม เช่น นิทรรศการศิลปะ การจัดเสวนา และโครงการศิลปินพำนัก (Artist Residency Program) ที่เปิดโอกาสให้ศิลปินไทยและต่างชาติได้มีพื้นที่ในการผลิตผลงาน เรียนรู้และทดลองสิ่งใหม่ๆ นอกจากนี้เทนทาเคิลยังร่วมงานกับองกรค์ในต่างประเทศ จัดโครงการแลกเปลี่ยนศิลปินเพื่อให้ศิลปินไทยได้มีโอกาสไปทำงานศิลปะและสร้างเครือค่ายในระดับนานาชาติ
