S Gallery – Oneness by Sarawut Yasamut

Where: S Gallery, Sofitel Sukhumvit, 189 Sukhumvit Road, BTS Nana
Sofitel Sukhumvit’s S Gallery presents the opening party and press conference of Oneness by Sarawut Yasamut this Tuesday, June 21st. The opening party/cocktail gathering kicks off at 18:30 while the exhibition will be on display through September.
Foreign Correspondents’ Club of Thailand (FCCT) – Thai Buddhism: Seized by Politics?
When: Wednesday, June 22 from 19:00
Where: FCCT, 518/5 Ploenchit Road, Maneeya Center, Penthouse
FFCT presents its latest panel discussion, “Thai Buddhism : Seized by Politics” this Wednesday, June 22. Featured speakers include independent academic/chronicler/author Vichai Panich and writer/social critic and founder of International Network of Engaged Buddhism (INEB), Sulak Sivaraksa.
Free for members. Non-members pay 450THB or 150THB with valid student or journalist ID.
(UPDATED) JAM – Cine Club “Party Monster” (New York Urban Legend Month)

With this month’s theme being “New York Urban Legend Month”, JAM screens “Party Monster“ – directed by Randy Barbato and Fenton Bailey (2003) – this Wednesday at 20:00. The dress code is Club Kids – 90’s Rave Scene.

Democrazy Theatre Studio – The Disappearance of The Boy on a Sunday Afternoon
When: Thursday, 23 June at 20:00
Where: Democrazy Theatre Studio, Soi Saphan Khoo, Rama 4 Road, Sathorn
Splashing Theatre and Democrazy Studio presents, “The Disappearance of the Boy on a Sunday Afternoon,” a play directed and written by Thanaphon Accawatanyu. The play will be on 23,24,25 June and 3,4,5 July at 8pm (additional matinee screening at 2pm on Sundays). Tickets cost 350THB per person or 650THB for two.
JAM – Cultural Studies – Film – I Am Chut Wutty
When: Thursday, June 23 from 20:00
Where: Jam, 41 Soi Rong Nam Kang (Charoen Rat Soi 1), Sathorn – Surasak BTS Exit 2, Bangkok
University lecturer/author Viriya Sawangchot hosts the upcoming cultural studies session at Jam, with the latest screening set to be “I Am Chut Wutty” – a documentary by Fran Lambrick that tells the story of the Cambodian environmental activist. Screening will be followed by a short discussion. Entry by donation with proceeds going to film campaign, ‘Not 1 More.’
Cho Why – “There I was, underground, bending the light” – Performance Installation

Cho Why presents “There I was, underground, bending the light,” a performance installation mixing dance, performance art and sculpture, this Friday, June 24th. Entry is 100THB and includes a free drink.
Midnice Gallery – New Day Begins

Upcoming this Saturday is Midnice Gallery‘s second exhibition of locally based Japanese artists Kimimochi Tauchi, Rei Hayase and Shirofumi Takehara. The presentation features traditional sixth century-style Japanese painting techniques.
Project 189 Bangkok – Nocturne by Nana Chen
