What’s New
Jam Ciné Club – Buena Vista Social Club
When: July 13th from 20:00
Where: JAM, 41 Soi Rong Nam Kang (Charoen Rat Soi 1), Sathorn – Surasak BTS
This month’s theme at JAM is ‘Music Scenes’. Jam Ciné screens “Buena Vista Social Club” (Wim Wenders, 1999) this Wednesday as part of its cinema club. Screening will start at 8 pm and the guest host for July is Dan Chalk.
Bangkok and Cultural Centre – Bangkok Book Festival 2016
When: July 15th – 17th
Where: Bangkok and Cultural Centre – National Stadium BTS
Whether you are a writer, reader, book designer or publisher, you are important for this festival. Bangkok Book Festival represents discussions with famous Thai writers, new coming book covers and workshop with Jakobs Hinrichs, a German graphic novelist.
MOST 2414 – Dream Stone
When: July 15th from 19:00
Where: MOST 2414, 672/36 Charoen Krung
Dream Stone is the first solo exhibition of Luke Satoru, Thai-Japanese artist. The series is mixed with film photography and paint as part of a project exploring visual possibilities for the viewer to interpret. The opening will start at 7pm and will be ongoing for a month.
ATTA Gallery – Jewellery is at my feet, the show is yours
When: July 15th at 19:30 – 20:30
Where: ATTA Gallery, O.P. Garden Unit 1109, Soi Charoenkrung 36
Panjapol Kulpapangkorn will talk about “Jewellery is at my feet, the show is yours”. Come and find out why jewellery is at his feet and why the show is ours.
Whiteline – Silom 8 – The 30 Second Film Festival
When: July 15th from 21:00
Where: Whiteline – Silom 8, Silom Soi 8, Bangkok
The 30 Second Film Festival will award the winner based on audience vote with 10,000 baht and more. Enjoy great short films and fun party afterward!
Speedy Grandma – Peep in me
When: July 15th to 22nd from 19:00
Where: Speedy Grandma, Charoenkrung 28 Bangrak, Bangkok
“The truth is always first discovered in open space”
Peep in me is a live performance criticizing security and danger of CCTV screen in today’s society. The two artists are Watcharapol Paksri and Rapat Bunduwanich. Speedy Grandma is back!
Jam – Terminated

You are all invited to participate in the workshop on “Electronic music with Ableton Live” by Tri Minh, Electronic musician from Vietnam. Ticket costs 200 THB with one free drink. Limited seats available!
Olive Creature Laboratory – Mixed Media Fantasy Creatures
When: July 16th at 10:00-17:00
Where: Olive Creature Laboratory, Ekkamai soi 10, Ekkamai BTS
Olive Creature Laboratory host one-day session teaching how to mix 2 powerful techniques of water colour and colour pencil to create your own work under “Magical flower” theme. Beginners are welcome. 2,800 THB will be charged for tuition and materials.
Chomp – Heart and Nerve and Sinew by Kat Jones
When:July 16th from 20:00
Where:Chomp, 63-65 Samsen road, corner of Samsen Soi 1, Phra nakon, Bangkok
Chomp presents solo exhibition, Heart and Nerve and Sinew by Kat Jones, an illustrator and painter. Each piece of her artwork is entirely hand drawn, showing itself partnership between clarity and chaos.
The National Gallery Bangkok – Manga Anime Games from Japan in Thailand
When:July 16th through August 28th, 9:00 to 19:00
Where:The National Gallery Bangkok, Chao Fa Road, Phra Nakhon, Bangkok
This exhibition is held by the National Gallery Tokyo and Bangkok, focusing on Japanese Manga, anime and games that have evolved into an integrated form of media expression. Free entrance and bus pick up on weekend from Phayathai BTS. The gallery is closed on Monday and Tuesday.
Jam – Cultural Studies Film
When:July 17th at 20:00-23:00
Where:Jam, 41 Soi Rong Nam Kang (Charoen Rat Soi 1), Sathorn – Surasak BTS
Cultural Studies Film program for this July presents 2 documentaries, The Great European Disaster Movie and Lexit The Movie, showing different sides of propaganda from the recent UK’s EU referendum. A casual discussion will be followed after the screening at 8pm.
