The Art Center Chula - Micahel Shaowanasai - Revisits - feat

Opening: December 22 at 17:30 until February 6, 2016

Where: 7th Floor, Office of Academic Resources, Chulalongkorn University, Phayathai Road, Bangkok

Multi-disciplinary artist and social activist, Michael Shaowanasai presents his latest collection of objets d’art from December 22 onwards at Chulalongkorn University – the place where he made his first debut. The upcoming exhibition is said to be “site-specific” and likely references the growth and evolution in his artistic journey.

Ardel Gallery of Modern Art - Matters Printed – Macau Printmakers

From December 22 until January 31, Ardel Gallery of Modern Art will be hosting an exhibition of various print techniques from 25 Macau-based artists.

Ansel & Elliott Cafe will be holding a one-day exhibition of photography, craftsmanship and illustration at its Phayathai digs. There will also be live music sessions by Arm&Hon of Hope The Flowers, several special guests and some light snacks and refreshments.

Chiang Mai based artist, Paphonsak La-or debuts his solo exhibition from December 23 at cultural landmark and fan-favorite art space, Lyla Gallery. Paphonsak’s paintings feature distinct landscapes from the towns and districts affected by the 2011 tsunami and resulting radioactive leakage in Japan’s Fukushima Prefecture.

 

Pridibranomyong Library – Filmvirus In Weimar Germany : G.W. Past

Thammasat University - Filmvirus in Weimar Germany - feat

Opening: December 27 at 12:30 and 14:30

Where: Thammasat University, Phra Nakhon, Bangkok

As part of an ongoing month of showings, Filmvirus In Weimar Germany focuses on films that shed light upon the social and political atmosphere of Germany’s Weimar Republic in the early to mid-1900’s. Some past screenings have included The Spiders by Fritz Lang and The Wildcat by Ernst Lubitsch. For its final screening on December 27, viewers will be able to catch films from Georg Wilhelm “G.W.” Pabst, including Diary of A Lost Girl, The Threepenny Opera and Brecht Vs. Pabst (documentary).
