Featuring FAROx\, Diamond One\, BEMUSED and Mister Bows.\nOPENING PARTY DETAILS\n8pm- Midnight\, Saturday 13 December at Jam.\nMusic by DJ Porsche.\nLamai Thai Rum open bar 8-9pm. \nBANGKOK UNBALANCED\nIt’s hard to classify what is ‘normal’ in Bangkok\, where the equilibrium lies in a city filled with eccentricities and jarring contrasts. A giddying juxtaposition of religion and consumerism\, elites and unfortunates\, luxury condominiums and slums\, skytrains and broken walkways\, hedonism and abstinence\, political polarisation and utter indifference. A clusterfuck of cultures and ideologies\, a stimulation overload for the uninitiated\, but this is all what makes Bangkok unique…Bangkok Unbalanced. \nFor this show four artists with a background in street art and graffiti we will be visually showing how some things work and some things don’t in our amazing city of Bangkok. \n►FAROx\nFAROx aka Naradhip Paspirom has fostered an interest in art since he was a child\, his father also also working in the artistic field gave him appreciation of art in all it’s forms. He currently does fine art\, visual communication art design\, digital art\, and motion graphic art. After winning ‘Cut & Paste’ in 2012 for Motion Graphics and again in 2013 for Character Design\, FAROx had the opportunity to attend another competition in New York where he was introduced to street art\, a medium he would later engage heavily with. For ‘Bangkok Unbalanced’ FAROX will present his aspect of the city through his surrealistic lens.\nhttps://www.behance.net/naradhip_faro\nhttps://farxoe.tumblr.com \n►Diamond One\nOriginally from New Zealand\, Diamond is writer/animator turned graffiti/street artist. He came to Thailand after 5 months of sailing on his brother’s boat from Timor to the land of smiles\, and after spending only a few weeks in Bangkok\, he knew this unique city was the place for him. He set up a studio here 3 years ago to start creating bigger artworks\, most of these ended up being murals on walls around south east Asia\, but some were also made and sold on canvas. In this show Diamond will be expressing his view on Bangkok’s sometimes harsh contrasts using a mix of oils\, spray paint\, a creative use of photography and some suprise’s\nhttps://www.facebook.com/OneDiamond\nhttps://www.diamond-one.net \n►BEMUSED\nBangkok artist BEMUSED aka ‘Tae’ Yuthajit Ogawa\, graduated from Rangsit University Faculty of Art & Design with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. Working as a compositor for a 3D advertising company. While waiting for scenes to render Tae fills in time drawing inane characters on anything around him – empty tissue rolls\, cake boxes\, coffee cups. He now constantly draws on anything he can\, humorously adding his work to the streets of Bangkok\, personifying otherwise inanimate objects\, machines and surfaces and contributing hundreds of hand drawn stickers around the city.\nhttps://www.facebook.com/bemused.tm\nhttps://www.behance.net/taeogawa \n►Mister Bows\nThai graffiti artist from Bangkok. Mister Bows graduated Computer Arts from Rangsit University and has been creating art since he could crawl. His interest in Graffiti started after a trip to New York in 2002 where the streets became his inspiration. Mister Bows work is playful yet conveys an anti-establishment sentiment\, an overt mentality of graffiti writers vs the system. Though painting the streets for 12 years Bangkok Unbalanced will be his first show in a gallery space and will see him using a mix of spray and acrylic techniques\, an opportunity he sees to “connect with free thinking Bangkokians.” \n“Colourful Bangkok in the land of smiles is filled with a variety of people\, some are good\, some are bad\, without focus this Bangkok Unbalanced can kill one’s humanity\, it’s a wild city where people need to take care.” \n►Lamai Thai Rum\nCrafted in a local distillery\, Lamai is the culmination of a smooth and charming experience that symbolises Thailand.
