ADOBO MONOLOGUE

ADOBO MONOLOGUE is a short performance about a boy and his relationship with his father, which he narrates to the audience while cooking his specialty – chicken adobo. Originally staged at the PETA Theater Center, this educational theater piece has toured different communities for the positive discipline advocacy of the Philippine Educational Theater Association – PETA ARTS Zone Project, an advocacy campaign for positive discipline and Save the Children.

ABOUT ARTIST

Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA) (f. 1967, Philippines) In its early years, the company developed a People’s Theater dedicated to social change and empowerment, particularly of marginalized communities. PETA introduced plays written and performed in Filipino. Prior to transferring to its new performance venue in 2005, most of PETA’s plays were performed at the Dulaang Rajah Sulayman, an open-air theater in Intramuros, Manila designed by Leandro Locsin. It has produced a significant number of plays since its founding in the late 1960s and is committed to artistic development, education in theater and the arts, and development through its strong outreach component.

เมื่อศิลปะการแสดงทำหน้าที่เกินความเป็นศิลปะ และได้กลายเป็นเครื่องมือเพื่อสร้างการตระหนักรู้ต่อประเด็นที่เกิดขึ้นในสังคม อโดโบ ไมค์เดี่ยว เป็นการแสดงสดสั้นๆ เกี่ยวกับเด็กผู้ชาย ความสัมพันธ์ของเขาและพ่อ และอาหารประจำชาติของประเทศฟิลิปปินส์ “Chicken Adobo” อโดโบ ไมค์เดี่ยว จึงเป็นศิลปะการแสดงที่แตกต่าง เริ่มการแสดงครั้งแรกที่โรงละคร PETA ผลงานชิ้นนี้เดินทางไปในหลายชุมชนเพื่อการส่งเสริมการสร้างวินัยต่อเด็กด้วยวิธีสร้างสรรค์ ส่วนหนึ่งในผลงานหลายชิ้นของ ฟิลิปปินส์ เอ็ดดูเคชั่นแนล เธียเตอร์ แอสโซซิเอชั่น – PETA ARTS Zone Project โครงการศิลปะการแสดงที่ก้าวพรมแดนสู่บทบาททางการศึกษาเพื่อส่งเสริมประเด็นทางสังคม

เกี่ยวกับศิลปิน

ฟิลิปปินส์ เอ็ดดูเคชั่นแนล เธียเตอร์ แอสโซซิเอชั่น (PETA) (ก่อตั้ง 2510, ฟิลิปปินส์) ในปีแรกเริ่ม บริษัทได้พัฒนา People’s Theater เพื่ออุทิศให้แก่การเปลี่ยนแปลงและการมอบอำนาจให้สังคม โดยเน้นไปยังส่วนชุมชนชายขอบ PETA ริเริ่มบทละครที่เขียนและแสดงด้วยภาษาฟิลิปปินส์ ก่อนจะย้ายสถานที่การแสดงในปีพ.ศ. 2548 การแสดงส่วนใหญ่ของ PETA จัดขึ้นที่ Dulaang Rajah Sulayman โรงละครกลางแจ้งในอินทรามูรอส มะนิลา ซึ่งออกแบบโดย เลอันโดร ลอคซิน บริษัทได้ผลิตบทละครเป็นจำนวนมากนับตั้งแต่วันก่อตั้งในปลายยุคค.ศ. 1960 และมุ่งมั่นในการพัฒนาการศึกษาด้านการละครและศิลปะ เพื่อช่วยพัฒนาผู้ด้อยโอกาส
