DESCRIPTION:“Dear Sons And Daughters Of Hungry Ghosts”\nArt Group Exhibition \nDate of Exhibition:\n15th September 2017 to 7th October 2017\n*Opening reception party\n15th September 2017 from 7pm till late. \nPlace:\nGOJA Gallery Cafe.\nSukhumvit 71 Soi 3 Pridi 5/2 Klongtoey Phrakanong\n(Phrakanong / Pridibanoomyong Soi3.) Bangkok. \nDear Sons And Daughters Of Hungry Ghosts\ndefining the realm of their existence in a new era\nAs Thailand grapples with itself\,\na tug of war ensues between\nprosperity and collapse.\nUnder a sky illuminated by shadows of ghosts\,\nthe young dance awkwardly on a glimmer of hope to reverberating rhythms.\nRhythms composed by the ghosts of their fathers and mothers.\nTranslucent or invisible they may seem to many but always apparent\, are strings that bind to\nwhispers and echoes flailing as they insinuate perils that await\, should the dancers fall down.\nThis peril though only insinuated\, blinds each and every one of these dancers with a trembling\nfear.\nTo cast a look down or challenge the notion of an inferno below as opposed to it being a field of\nrye is tantamount to taboo.\nAnd so with trepidation\, the young dancers continually move\, without observing\nanything\,\neven themselves.\nHave many of our generation forgotten to look\,\nto look up\,down\,left\,right\,\nto look anywhere or\nelsewhere…\nEvery one of the four artists featured in this exhibition will reconstruct\,connect and present a\n“mutual personal experience” of their generation\, well aware that the sum of all their cultural and\nsocial identities are more a construction by and of\, or remnants of the generations before that\nstill haunt them. \nDear Sons And Daughters Of Hungry Ghosts attempts to reassert a determination to strengthen\nthat glimmer of hope. \n  \nCurator\nNatchanon Vana \nArtist\nAdisak Jirasakkasem\nNatchanon Vana\nSuthtitham Thamsuk\nKanyarawit Phoolsawat \n  \n  \nแด่ลูกชายและลูกสาวของภูติผีที่หิวโหย\nแด่ใครและใครใต้เงาของภูติผี\nใต้ร่มของสมัยใหม่ การนิยาม จัดสรรและการแบ่งสัดส่วน\nกรุงเทพฯ เป็นทั้งความรุ่งเรืองและความล่มสลาย ปรากฎเงาของภูมิผีเป็นแสงสลัวอยู่บนท้องฟ้าของมัน\nบนเส้นด้ายของความคาดหวัง ที่หนุ่มสาวเต้นรำไปบนนั้นอย่างเก้งก้าง หวั่นไหว และสะท้านสะเทือน\nผีแห่งชนรุ่นก่อนหน้า สถาบันครอบครัว สถาบันทางสังคม ศาสนา ฯลฯ ผู้ที่เป็นพ่อและแม่\nเป็นผู้ปกครองที่ชักไยอยู่เบื้องบน ส่งเสียงหลอกหลอนถึงความล้มเหลวที่รอคอยอยู่เบื้องล่าง\nหากพลั้งร่วงหล่น\nบนด้ายแห่งความคาดหวังนั้น คนรุ่นเราบางส่วนจึงลืมเลือนที่จะปรายตามองลงพื้นเบื้องล่าง\nว่าแท้จริงเป็นขวากหนามหรือฟูกนุ่มนวล เขาหลับตาแล้วเดินไปบนเส้นสายบอบบาง\nด้วยความหวาดกลัวจากความไม่รู้ ไม่มีเวลามองตัวเองในกระจก รีบเร่ง\nเพราะเป้าหมายที่สุดปลายด้ายเส้นนั้นเรียกร้องให้เดินเข้าไปหา โยงไยทำชักนำก็ร่ายรำไปอย่างเก้ๆ กังๆ\nห่างออกมาจากจุดเริ่มต้น เชือกเส้นที่ชักอยู่บนหลังก็ยาวขึ้นเรื่อยๆ ท่ามกลางวัยหนุ่มสาว\nเราพบว่าตัวเราเองยืนอยู่เดียวดายอยู่ ณ กึ่งกลางของเส้นด้าย มันดูหย่อนเหมือนจะขาด\nการเดินไปข้างหน้าเป็นคำถาม ส่วนการเดินถอยหลังนั้นไม่ใช่ตัวเลือก\nแด่ลูกชายและลูกสาวของภูติผีที่หิวโหย\nDear Sons And Daughters Of Hungry Ghosts\nเป็นความพยายามในการทำลายเส้นด้ายหย่อนยานนั้น แล้วลืมตาสำรวจความเป็นไปของเหล่า Gen Y\nมองไปยังนัยตาของภูติผี และความไม่รู้เบื้องล่าง\nวัฒนธรรม ครอบครัว สังคม และตัวตนที่ถูกสร้างและฝากฝัง\nเป็นวิญญานจากคนรุ่นก่อนที่หลอกหลอนหนุ่มสาวยุคปลายศตวรรษที่ 20\nเราพยายามเบือนหน้าหนีความคาดหวังและมายาคติที่สั่งสมมานับตั้งแต่การตายลงของเศรษฐกิจในปี 2540\nและความพยายามกลับมารุ่งเรืองของผู้คนใน Gen X ที่ผูกติดความหวังอยู่กับอนุชนของพวกเขา\nแม้จะเคลื่อนไหวภายใต้การชักไยของผู้มาก่อน\nแต่หนุ่มสาวในยุคนี้ก็ได้พยายามหาความหมายบางอย่างเป็นของตัวเอง \nผลงานทั้ง 4 ชิ้น ที่จัดแสดงในนิทรรศการคือเรื่องราวของศิลปินทั้ง 4 ที่พยายามเชื่อมโยงและนำเสนอความ\n“ปัจเจกอันคล้ายคลึง” ของ Generation การก่อสร้างขึ้นของอัตลักษณ์ของเหล่า Gen Y\nและสำรวจสายใยของความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างผู้คนรุ่นก่อนหน้ากับหนุ่มสาวในปี 2560\nรวมไปถึงเหล่าประเด็นร่วมสมัย อย่างเรื่องของครอบครัว เพศ ความไม่สบประกอบ และความห่างเหิน-\nโดดเดี่ยว\nแด่หนุ่มสาวใต้เงาของภูติผี \n  \nCurator\nณัฐชนน วะนา\nArtist\nอดิศักดิ์ จิราศักดิ์เกษม\nณัฐชนน วะนา\nสุทธิธรรม ธรรมสุข\nกัลยารวิศ พูลสวัสดิ์ \n#Art #Exhibition #GOJA #GOJAART #Phrakanong #Bangkok #Thailand #dearsonsanddaughtersofhungryghosts
